1 Set the camcorder to TAPE-CAMERA
mode.
Still Recording on Tape
Available mode: TAPE-CAMERA
You can record still images of subjects with
normal sound on a tape by selecting one of two
still recording modes.
Still Recording mode options
PHOTO SHOT: A still picture is recorded for
6 seconds following the sound and visual
effects of a camera shutter closing.
STILL: A continuous still image is recorded.

Selecting Still Recording Mode
1 In TAPE-CAMERA mode, display the
menu screen (see page 31).
2 Touch [K] or [L] to select “W”, and
then touch [SET]. Touch [K] or [L] to
select “PHOTO SNAP”, and then touch
[SET].
3 Touch [K] or [L] to select “PHOTO
SHOT” or “STILL”, and then touch
[SET].
4 Touch [K] or [L] to select “MULTI
FRAME”, and then touch [SET]. Touch
[K] or [L] to select “1”, and then touch
[SET].
2 In Recording Standby mode,
press the STILL button.
• A still image of the subject is
displayed.
3 Press the REC START/STOP
button.
• The still image is recorded.
In PHOTO SHOT mode, the camcorder
returns to Recording Standby mode after
recording a still image for 6 seconds.
To pause recording
Press the REC START/STOP button.
To cancel the still image
In PHOTO SHOT mode, press the STILL
button while the camcorder is in Recording
Standby mode.
In STILL mode, press the STILL button.
Notes:
• Still Recording can also be used during
recording by pressing the STILL button.
• If you use PHOTO SHOT during recording, a still
picture is recorded for 6 seconds without the
sound and visual effects of a camera shutter
closing, and then the camcorder enters
Recording Standby mode.
• You can use PHOTO SHOT without the sound
effect of a camera shutter closing by setting the
SOUND menu item to “OFF” (see page 105).
• The picture quality in Still Recording mode will
be slightly lower than normal pictures.
