Using the Counter Memory
Use the counter memory when you want to
return to the beginning of a particular scene.
The position where the counter was reset
(O:OO.OO) is stored in memory to make it easier
to return the tape to that point.

During playback (or recording), press
the MENU button to display the counter
control button indicators on the monitor.
l If “MEMORY” is not displayed, press the
COUNTER button.

2 Press the MEMORY button to set the
counter to Counter Memory mode. “M”
will be displayed to the left of the
counter.

Press the RESET button to reset the
counter to zero (see page 43) at the
beginning of a scene that you want to
return to later. Then press the MODE
DISPLAY button to turn off the button
indicators.

4 Stop playback (or recording).
l If you have been recording, set the
Power switch to VCR.
Then press the REW button (4). The
tape will automatically stop when the
counter reaches O:OO.OO. Press the
PLAY button ( b) to view the desired
scene.
Notes:
l The FF button (w) can be used in the same
way.
l This function does not work during video
searches.
To cancel Counter Memory mode
Perform step 1 above. Then press the MEM-
ORY button to turn off the “M” to the left of the
counter display. The Counter Memory mode is
now cancelled.
