Press the OPERATE button to turn on the
VCR.
Insert the cassette, making sure the erasure
protection hole is covered.
Select the channel position you wish to
record with the CHANNEL O/Q buttons.
Select the SP (Standard Play) or LP (Long
Play) recording speed with the TAPE SPEED
button on the remote control (3P” or “LP”
nel.

dard Play) gives the best picture quality. LP
(Long Play) gives the longest recording time.
Press the REC button. (If the erasure pro-
tection hole is uncovered, the cassette will
be ejected.) To pause during recording,
press the PAUSE/STILL (F. ADV) button. To
resume recording, press the PAUSE/STILL
(F. ADV) button again.
To stop recording, press the STOP button.
l The pause mode disengages automatically after about 5 minutes, and the VCR enters stop mode
* To record audio and video from an external source through the AUDIO/VIDEO terminal or-t the front or rear of the
VCR, press the INPUT SElXCT button on the remote control or press the CHANNEL @IO buttons to select the Ll
or L2 channel position situated between the last channel and first channel, (When the LI or L2 position is selected,
“LI or L2” is displayed where a channel position number is usually displayed.)

l VC-A260X, VGA460X are oniy equipped with AUDIO/VIDEO (rear) terminals. (“AV” is dispiayed)
l If the TV signals are weak and the picture changes to monochrome, set the “PAL” mode on the MODE selection
screen. (See Colour Mode on page 19.) Normally, the colour mode should be set to “AUTO”.
To Watch Another TV Programme While Recording
After steps @ to @ have been completed, select the programme you wish to view using the TV tuner.
At the end of the tape, your VCR will automatically stop recording, rewind to the beginning of the tape,
eject the tape and turn off the power.
