6. Receiving
Faxes
1 When the machine and cordless handset ring, press on the
machine or pick up the cordless handset and press
to answer.
2 If you hear a fax tone, wait until the
machine display shows FAX
RECEIVING. Put the cordless handset
back in the cradle if you used it.
3 If the other party first speaks with you
and then wants to send a fax, press
on the machine or on the
cordless handset after speaking.
(Press before the sender presses their
Start key.) Put the cordless handset
back in the cradle if you used it.
Note: If the Remote Fax Reception setting has been set to NO (page 130), it
will not be possible to press on the cordless handset to begin fax
reception. In this case, transfer the call to machine (page 57) and then press
on the machine.

Receiving faxes in TEL mode
Important: If a document is loaded in the machine’s feeder, remove it before
performing the steps below. (Fax reception is not possible when a document
is in the feeder.)
If FAX RECEIVING does not appear (or if you have set the Fax
Signal Receive setting (page 130) to NO), press on the
machine or on the cordless handset to begin reception.
