External Device Connection

You can charge the handset and transfer data between a PC
and the handset memory/microSD Card by connecting the
handset and the PC.

Insert the microUSB plug of Micro USB Cable
01 (sold separately) horizontally into the
external connection jack on the handset with
the side marked with “B” turned up (1)

Insert the USB plug of Micro USB Cable 01
horizontally into the USB connector on a PC
(2)
: The confirmation screen for the use of USB is displayed. If it
is not displayed, drag the status bar down and select the
notification for the use of USB.

Select a using method of USB
 Charging: Just charge the handset.
 File transfers: Transfer data between a PC compatible with
MTP and the handset memory/microSD Card.
 Photo transfer (PTP): Transfer still pictures between a PC
compatible with PTP and the handset memory.

Disconnect Micro USB Cable 01 from the
handset and the PC
You can print images using a print app (plug-in) or save
images in Google Drive etc.
Example: When using Album

[Print by print service]

Set each item
: Follow the instructions on the screen and operate after this
step.
Using Wi-Fi communication, you can watch the still pictures
and the videos and listen to the music data on a microSD Card
with a home network compatible TV etc.
You can make public the following data managed by Contents
Manager.
*1 Still pictures whose image size is larger than “4,096 × 4,096”
cannot be displayed.
*2 WAV files can be played only when their data format is
LPCM. Also, LPCM is not displayed on the handset.
･ You may not make data public when the number of each data
exceeds 1,000.
Store the data to make public in the following folders on a
microSD Card in advance.
Make settings for the Wi-Fi connection before using the home
network server. For details on the settings of Wi-Fi
nP. 24 “Wi-Fi settings”
Refer to the following website for models of TV compatible with
connection with the handset.

As for how to connect the handset from a home network
compatible TV, refer to the manual of the home network
compatible TV.
Connection may not be made properly or may be canceled while
in use depending on wireless LAN access points or usage
environment. In this case, disable [Home network server] in
Home network settings and enable it again.
Check the followings when you cannot connect properly.
 Access point settings
 Wi-Fi connecting condition
 Network settings of the home network compatible device to
connect
 Security software/Firewall settings of the home network
compatible device
 Home network settings of the handset

In the home screen, [R]/[Settings]/[More]/
[Home network settings]

Select an item
 Home network server: Set whether to use the home network
server.
 Wi-Fi for home NW server: Set the network to be used from
the access points set for Wi-Fi connection.
 Home network server name: Register the home network
server name to be displayed on a home network compatible
TV.

PC connection
Use Micro USB Cable 01 as a USB cable. USB cables for PC
are not available, since the plug shape is different.
Using a USB HUB may prevent the equipment from working
normally.
When you transfer a great deal of data at once, the
transference may be interrupted. In this case, split the data into
several files and send them separately.
Do not remove Micro USB Cable 01 while exchanging data with
PC. Data may be damaged.
Windows Vista, Windows 7, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 all
of which are Japanese version are available OS of PCs for the
connection.
