6.4 MaxivaThree‐StrikeFaultActions
6.4.1 ModuleFaults
Shouldamodulefailureoccur(sayapowerglitch)theLPUwillinitiateathree‐strikeaction.PAmodulesarenot
resetindividually,thuswhenarestrikeiscommandedformtheLPUallPAmoduleswillreceivetherestrikein
attempttoclearthedetectedfailure.
Themodulethr
eestrikepolicyis:
• TheLPUwilltrytorestartthemodulethreetimeswithina15secondwindow.Afterthat,ifafaultisstillpres‐
ent,theLPUwi
llflagthatmoduleasfailedandwillnotattemptanotherautomaticrestrike.
• Thereisa1seconddelaybetweenrestartattempts.
• Thefault‐strikerestartprocessisthesameasthesystemrestartcommand,allofthemodulefaultswillbe
reset.
• Duringthe15secondthree‐strikewindow,anyofthenuisancefaultswillbereportedtotheLPU.
• IssuingamanualsystemONcommandwhilethesystemisintheONstatewillsendamanualrestartcom‐
mandtoal
lmodules,andalsowillresettheLPUthreestrikelogic.Anypreviousmodulesthatwereflaggedas
failedduringthethreestrikeprocesswillbecleared,andwillagainbesubjecttoautomaticrestrikeattempts
