1.5.1.2 LPUModulatorSection
TheLPUmodulatorsectionisthesignalsourceforthetransmitterandoccupiestheupperhalfoftheLPUchassis.It
receivestheprogrammaterialtobetransmittedintheformofadigitaltransportstream(oranalogvideoinputin
thecaseofanalogtelevision)andgeneratesalowlevelonch
annelRFsignal.Multipleinputconnectorsontherear
panelallowfortheswitchovertoredundanttransportstreams.
Speciali
nputadapterboardsarerequiredforeitheranalogtelevision(PAL,NTSC,SECAM).Theseoptionalboards
providetheappropriateinputconnectionsfortheirrespectiveformatsattheLPUrearpanel.
TheLPUca
nbeoperatedwithmultiplemodulationplatformsthroughasoftwarechangeandfeaturekeyupdate.
Themodulationprocessisfullydigital,withanalogcircuitsusedonlyafterthemodulationtoupconverttheIFsignal
tothedesiredRFchannel.

Ucanacceptanexternal10MHzor1pps(pulsepersecond)frequencyreferenceviarearpanelconnectors.A
