5.1 MaintenancePhilosophy
ThissectioncontainsthemaintenanceandalignmentproceduresfortheMaxivaUAXSeriesUHFtransmitter.This
includesroutinemai ntenance,PAmodulereplacement,PAmodulerepair,transmittercalibrationandPCboard
replacementprocedures.TheMaxivaUAXtransmitterisdesignedtobeeasilymaintainedinthefield.Theuseof
modularconstructionwithfunct
ionalpluginmodulesallowstechnicianstoisolateandreplaceadefectivemodule
quicklyandwith minimaldowntime.

5.2 PerformingaFunctionalCheck
Toverifythatthetransmitterisfunctioningproperly,checkthefrontpanelLEDs.Ifproblems(redLEDs)are
encountered,checktheLPULCDscreenfaultlog(STATUS>FAULTLOG).RefertoSection6foralistingofpossible
faultsandindications.
5.3 ChangingOperationalCharacteristics
5.3.1 ChangingtheFrequency
Thisproceduredescribesmanuallychangingthechannelfrequencytoanewvaluefortheveryfirsttime.Itis
recommendedthatthetransmitterLPUoperationalsettingsontheoriginalchannelbesavedusingtheLPUEXCITER
HOME>SETUP>ISP>SAVESETTINGSwebbrowserscreenbeforeproceedingwithafr
equencychange.Once
operationonthenewfrequencyhasbeenestablished,asecondsetofsettingsshouldalsobesaved.Thiswillgreatly
facilitatechangingbetweenfrequenciesinthefuturebysimplyloadingthedesiredpreferencesfile.

TRANSMITTERS ARE NOT COMPENSATED VERSUS FREQUENCY. THAT IS,
THEY WILL EXPERIENCE A MONOTONIC RISE IN COUPLING VALUE
ACROSS BAND III. ACCORDINGLY, ANY COUPLING VALUES WRITTEN ON
TEST MEASUREMENT PORTS MAY NOT BE APPLICABLE TO A NEW
