4.2.2 TransmitterRS485Bus
ThededicatedRS485serialconnectionbetweenthefrontpanelandampcontrollerisusedtogathertransmitter
data.Thefrontpanelisalwaysthe“masteroftheRS485businternaltotheLPU.
WhenaTC
Uisinstalledinadualdrivesystem,theLPUsautomaticallyrecognizeitspresenceandrunineither
masterorslavemodewithregardstotheexternalRS485serialbusthroughtherestofthetransmittersystem.
WhenanLPUisinmastermode,theRS485connectiontotheex
ternaltransmittercomponentsremainsintact,
allowingthefrontpanelRS485“mastertocommunicatewiththeentiretransmitter.Thisrelationshipisillustrated
inFigure42.
