The challenge
Eutronix (www.eutronix.eu) did not use a
significant part of the electricity produced
by the solar panels during daytime, while
the consumption was high at night because
of the data servers.
The battery system offers the possibility to
use the surplus of green electricity to power
the data servers part of the night.
During summer and half of spring and
autumn, batteries are very often full before
noon.
From 6:30 pm (office closes) until 01:30 am,
the data servers use the solar energy from
the batteries with no electricity taken from
the grid.
The next step will probably be to add more
of batteries to obtain self-sufficiency during
the whole night (at least during
summertime).
