5 For More Accurate Measurements
This is the maintenance information to keep the precision of this instrument and to use it
better.
This chapter explains the maintenance to keep the precision of the instrument such as daily
calibration.
5.1 Daily calibration (calibration mode)
Here we explain how to perform daily calibration.
Precautions for calibration
z Do not reuse standard solution.
z The transmission output is put to the state set in the “Hold output” (page 41) setting of
the basic setup.
z Contact outputs are put to the following conditions:
z Turned OFF when set to non, Cond or Err.
z Turned ON when set to Hold, ON.
z FAIL is output if a system error is raised when set to FAiL.
Calibration operation
Operate it from the measurement mode.
1. Hold down the CAL key until the CAL lamp lights up.
The calibration menu appears and the calibration type selected in the basic setup
(automatic calibration or manual calibration) starts.
2. Perform calibration in accordance with the method described in “4.3.1 Temperature
calibration” (page 44).
Tip
If you want to abort the calibration, press the MEAS key. The display returns to the measurement
mode without updating the calibration data.
5.2 Maintenance for the instrument body
5.2.1 Inspection of the meter
If insulation of the terminals for connecting the sensor has been weakened, accurate
measurement becomes difficult.
Inspect the terminal assembly periodically (once a year or so) to check for rust and the like
that cause insulation to become weak.
Wipe out the dirt from the body case with soft cloth.
Prohibited
Do not use an organic solvent or something similar.
