 Reference temperature setting
Set the reference temperature.
A reference temperature is the base temperature used when determining a temperature
coefficient. It is also referenced for conversion in temperature compensation calculation.
1. Open the measurement condition setting screen referring to “ How to open basic
setup menus” (page 19).
The setup item selection screen is displayed on the measurement display, showing the
display for unit setting, “Unit”.
2. Display “trEF” on the measurement display using the DOWN key, and press the
ENT key.
The sub-display starts blinking. Now you can change the setting.
3. Press the UP/DOWN key to set the reference temperature.
UP key : Increments the value by 1
°C.
DOWN key : Decrements the value by 1
°C.
The setting range is 5
°C to 95°C.
4. Press the ENT key to establish the setting.
Note
z Under normal conditions, the instrument operates using the reference temperature of 25°C.
z This functionality may produce a large margin of error when conductivity does not change linear
to temperature change or the sample temperature is greatly different from the reference
temperature.
Tip
z To set another item in the measurement condition setting next, press the UP/DOWN key to
display it.
z To return to the basic setup menu, press the MEAS key.
 TDS conversion coefficient setting
Set the TDS conversion coefficient.
TDS is given by multiplying conductivity by a TDS conversion coefficient, which is based on
the conversion in KCl or CaCO
3
solution.
1. Open the measurement condition setting screen referring to “ How to open basic
setup menus” (page 19).
The setup item selection screen is displayed on the measurement display, showing the
display for unit setting, “Unit”.
2. Display “tdS” on the measurement display using the DOWN key, and press the ENT
key.
The sub-display starts blinking. Now you can change the setting.
3. Press the UP/DOWN key to set the TDS conversion coefficient.
UP key : Increments the value by 0.01.
DOWN key : Decrements the value by 0.01.
The setting range is 0.30 to 1.00.
4. Press the ENT key to establish the setting.

z To set another item in the measurement condition setting next, press the UP/DOWN key to
display it.
z To return to the basic setup menu, press the MEAS key.
