3.10.2 Power Cycling Frequency Limits
As outlined in a previous section, the T200-X10 units contain a soft-start function. The soft-start function limits the
inrush current into the T200's D.C. Bus smoothing capacitors after the a.c. mains has been switched on.
If the frequency of power cycling becomes too high, then the power dissipation in the soft-start resistor can be excessive.
In this case the softstart circuitry may become damaged.
CAUTION
:- The following rule should be borne in mind when power cycling the a.c.
mains:-
Within any two minute period, the a.c. mains supply should not be
cycled on and off more than 6 times.
If this rate is exceeded then the internal softstart circuitry may be damaged, and the F3
fault will be displayed on the 7-segment display. In this case the T200 must be
returned to the Moog for repair.
There is also a restriction on the minimum time between a.c. mains power cycling. If
this rate is exceeded then the internal regeneration circuitry may be damaged and the
T200 will have to be returned to Moog for repair. Note that:-
The minimum time between any two consecutive a.c. mains power
cycles is 4.5 seconds.
