3.10.1 Power Ready Signalling from T200-X10 to Connected T200-X00 Units
The T200-X10 units contain a soft-start function. The soft-start function limits the inrush current into the T200's D.C.
Bus smoothing capacitors after the a.c. mains has been switched on. The T200 should not allow currents to flow in the
motor before the softstart has completed. Otherwise the D.C. Bus capacitors are drained by motor current during the
soft-start, and may never become fully charged.
3.10.1.1 The Power Ready Interconnect scheme
T200-X10 units will not allow high power to be applied to the motor phases before the soft-start has finished. This can
be accomplished because the T200-X10 control units are informed via internal signalling that the soft-start process is
still ongoing. However T200-X00 units, whose DC-Bus power is taken from a T200-X10, do not know, without some
control input, whether the T200-X10 soft-start process is ongoing. The T200-X10 provides the Power-Ready relay
output to signal to all connected T200-X00 units the status of its soft-start process.
Note that the T200 allows two options for digital input connections:-
1. The Pull-Up option is outlined in Figure 3.17
2. The Pull-Down option is outlined in Figure 3.18
The pull-up or pull-down interconnect scheme used for the Power Ready power sequencing scheme should follow the
overall digital input scheme which is selected by the user.
CAUTION:- The T200-X10 can malfunction unless the Power Ready power sequencing
control scheme is used. This control scheme is described in this section of the T200 User
Manual. Users should ensure that this scheme is implemented if they intend to connect
ANY T200-X00 units to a T200-X10.
