3.15.2 General Purpose Description of the Digital Outputs
The following electrical description applies to all, except one, of the digital outputs of the T200. (One digital output,
SYS-RDY, uses a relay rather than an opto-coupler).
Figure 3.41:- T200 Generic Digital Outputs
Note that:-
§ Output Impedance is 33 Ω.
§ Voltage Range is 12V to 36V from Digital-Output to the O_COMMON line. Digital outputs switch only DC
voltages.
§ The maximum current carrying capacity is 50mA. The outputs are neither short circuit nor overload protected. The
user must ensure that the current is ≤ 50mA.
§ All digital outputs are optically isolated for noise immunity purposes. All T200 digital outputs are isolated from
high voltage circuitry internally by double insulation standard isolation, and are considered Safety Extra Low
Voltage circuitry.
§ Digital Outputs can serve as high side or low side drivers, to cope with a wide variety of digital input formats.
For example, O_COMMON can be connected to an external 24V supply, and the Digital Output can pull-up an
input of a PLC. Alternatively O_COMMON can be connected to an external 24V RETurn (low voltage side of the
24V PSU), and the Digital Output can pull-down an input of a PLC.
§ Current flowing in the digital output implies the function is active. For example, when current flows in the
DRV_ENABLED output, then the T200 is enabled.

CAUTION:- The circuitry connected to the digital outputs should contain current
limiting resistors, so that the maximum current of the T200 outputs is 50mA. The T200
digital outputs will be permanently damaged if the output current exceeds this amount.
