Procedure for repairing an open foil pattern
To protect the electronic circuits, microwave ovens are provided with a fine foil pattern
in the primary circuit that acts as a fuse. If the foil pattern is open, follow the
troubleshooting procedure as outlined below.
Problem: Power ON, Indicator does not light.
Step Occurrence Cause or Correction
1. Only pattern “a” is Insert jumper wire
broken J1 and solder.

2. Patterns “a” and “b” Insert coil
are broken RCILF2003YAZZ
between “c” and “d”.
NOTE: At the time of this repair, make a visual inspection of the varistor for burn
damage, and test the transformer with an ohmmeter for the presence of a layer short.
