Basic operation

Some of these functions are only available on the remote control.

" To locate the beginning of a chapter/track

(skip)

You can skip the current chapter (track) to the next or previous.

Notes:

! Some discs do not display the chapter (track) and the skip feature is disabled.

! On a DVD, you cannot skip between titles.

! When operating SVCD/VCD with the P.B.C. function, set the P.B.C. to off (see

page 24).

" Fast forward/Fast reverse (search)

You can search the desired point as you play the disc.

Notes:

! On some discs, the search function is disabled.

! On a DVD, search does not operate between titles.

! On MP3 discs, the search is not possible across tracks.

! Sound output and the appearance of subtitles differ depending on the disc.

! When search is performed during the DVD playback, pictures may not be for-

warded or reversed in the search speed specified in this manual, depending on the

disc or the scene being played.

Whilst a disc is playing, press the or button.

! You can also use the or button on the main unit.

! Press the button to skip to the next chapter (track).

! Press the button to skip to the beginning of the current chapter (track).

Press the button again to skip to the beginning of the previous chapter

(track).

1 Whilst a disc is playing, press the or button.

Example: When the button is pressed

The disc is forwarded by the button and reversed by the button.

2 Press the PLAY/PAUSE / button to return to normal playback.
