Troubleshooting
If you are experiencing any problem with your display, before
calling for service, please review the following troubleshooting
tips.
There is no picture or sound.
• Isthepowercorddisconnected?(Seepage14.)
• Isthemainpowerswitchoff?(Seepage17.)
• Isthemonitorinstandbymode(thepowerLEDilluminating
inorange)?(Seepage17.)
• Isaninputmodeselectedthatisappropriatefortheinput
terminaltowhichthecableisconnected?(Seepages24to
25.)
• Ifanyexternalequipmentisconnected,makesurethe
equipmentisoperating(playingback).
Remote control does not work.
• Arethebatteriesinsertedwithpolarity(+,-)aligned?(See
page15.)
• Arethebatteriesexhausted?
• Pointtheremotecontrolunittowardthemonitor’sremote
controlsensor.(Seepage15.)
• Isthemenudisplayhiddenorisoperationdisabled?(See
page39.)
Sound from left and right speakers is reversed.
Sound is heard from only one side.
• Areaudiocablesconnectedproperly?(Seepage13.)
• Makesureaudiocablesforexternalspeakersare
connected properly: left and right cables may be reversed
oroneofthetwocablesmaynotbeconnected.(Seepage

• CheckthesettingofBALANCEforAUDIOmenu.(See

There is a picture but no sound.
• Isthesoundmuted?
• Makesurethevolumeisnotsettominimum.
• Areaudiocablesconnectedproperly?
• IsthesettingofAUDIOSELECTontheSETUPmenu

• IsthesettingforSPEAKERSELECTofAUDIOOPTIONon
theSETUPmenucorrect?(Seepage31.)
Unstable video.
• Thesignalmaybeincompatible.
• TrytheautomaticscreenadjustmentwhenD-SUB1[RGB]
orD-SUB2areused.
• Ifthetopandbottomoftheimagearenothorizontally
aligned,setTOUCHPANELMODEontheMONITOR
menutoOFF.
• IsSCREENMOTIONset?(Seepage35.)
The video from the HDMI input terminal does not appear
properly.
• IsthesettingforHDMI1/HDMI2/HDMI3ofINPUTSELECT
ontheSETUPmenucorrect?(Seepage31.)
• IstheHDMIcableHDMIstandardcompliant?Themonitor
willnotworkwithcablesthatarenotstandardcompliant.
• Istheinputsignalcompatiblewiththismonitor?(Seepages

The video from D-sub1 input terminal does not appear
correctly.
• IsthesettingforD-SUB1ofINPUTSELECTontheSETUP

The video from D-sub2 input terminal does not appear
correctly.

Themonitorwillnotworkwithcablesthatarenotstandard
compliant.
Control buttons do not work.
There is no picture.
• Loadnoisesfromoutsidemaybeinterferingwithnormal
operation.Turnoffthepowerandturnitonafterwaitingat
least5seconds,andthenchecktheoperation.
The input mode changes automatically.
• WhenCONNECTAUTOINPUTSELECTisON,theinput
mode automatically changes to that terminal when a video
signal is input into the input terminal.
Forthisreason,theinputmodemaychangewhenthe
computerwakesupfromsystemstandby.
• WhentheNOSIGNALAUTOINPUTSEL.isONandno
signal is present in a selected input mode, the monitor
automatically changes the selected mode to a mode where
a video signal is present.
Theinputmodemaychangeinthefollowingcases:
-Whenacomputerisinstandbymode.
-Whenvideoplayisstoppedwithaplaybackdevice.
The touch panel does not respond.

port(fortouchpanel)dependsontheterminaltowhichthe

• Hasthepentipofthetouchpenbecomeworn?Replace
thepentip.(Seepage20.)
• Isthebatteryinsertedinthewrongorientation(+,-)inthe
touchpen?(Seepage19.)
• Isthetouchpenbatteryexhausted?
• Aretouchpensthataresuppliedtouchpensoroptional
PN-ZL03Aused?
“CAPACITIVE”“Bluetooth”isindicatedontouchpensthat
can be used with this monitor.
• Ifyourngeristoodry,thescreenmaynotrespond.
• Isthereanythingattachedtothescreen?
Somethingattachedtothescreenmaypreventcorrect
operation.
• Donottouchthescreenwhenthemonitorpoweristurned
on,itwillleadtoamalfunction.Whenthisoccurs,turnthe
monitor power off and then on.
• TouchactionscannotbeperformedwhileSCREEN
MOTIONisinoperation.
