Troubleshooting
If you are experiencing any problem with your display, before
calling for service, please review the following troubleshooting
tips.
There is no picture or sound.
• Isthepowercorddisconnected?(Seepage14.)
• Isthemainpowerswitchoff?(Seepage17.)
• Isthemonitorinstandbymode(thepowerLEDilluminating
inorange)?(Seepage17.)
• Makesurecorrectinputmodeisselected.(Seepage18.)
• Ifanyexternalequipmentisconnected,makesurethe
equipmentisoperating(playingback).
Remote control does not work.
• Arethebatteriesinsertedwithpolarity(+,-)aligned?(See
page 16.)
• Arethebatteriesexhausted?
• Pointtheremotecontrolunittowardthemonitor’sremote
control sensor. (See page 16.)
• IsONSCREENDISPLAYsettoOFForisoperation
disabled?(Seepage30.)
Sound is heard from only one side.
• Areaudiocablesconnectedproperly?

There is a picture but no sound.

The video from the HDMI input terminal does not appear
properly.

video and audio of some connected devices may not output
correctlybecausetheHDMI1-3inputterminalssupport

The video from PC D-Sub input terminal does not appear
correctly.
• IsthesettingforSCREENPOSITIONofINPUTSELECT

• Istheinputsignalcompatiblewiththismonitor?(Seepage

Control buttons do not work.
There is no picture.
• Loadnoisesfromoutsidemaybeinterferingwithnormal
operation. Turn off the power and turn it on after waiting at
least5seconds,andthenchecktheoperation.
PowerLEDashesred.
• Hardwarehasaproblem.Turnoffthemonitorandrequest
repairfromyourSHARPdealer.
The monitor makes a cracking sound.
• Youmayoccasionallyhearacrackingsoundfromthe
monitor. This happens when the cabinet slightly expands
and contracts according to change in temperature. This
doesnotaffectthemonitor’sperformance.
ThePowerLEDisashinginredandgreenalternately.
• Whentheinternaltemperatureofthemonitorrises
excessively,thebrightnessofthebacklightdecreases
automaticallyinordertopreventhigh-temperature-related
problems. If the internal temperature rises further, the
monitor automatically enters standby mode and the Power
LEDblinksredandgreenalternately.
• Removethecauseoftheexcessivetemperaturerise.
-Ifthemonitorentersstandbymodeduetoarisein
temperature, to return to normal display, turn the power
switchoffandthenbackonagain.Themonitor,however,
will enter standby mode again if the cause of the
temperatureriseisnoteliminated.(Seepage8.)
-Checkwhetherthemonitorisplacedatalocationwhere
aquickriseintemperatureislikely.Internaltemperature
risesquicklyiftheventsonthemonitorareblocked.
-Internaltemperaturerisesquicklyifdustaccumulates
insidethemonitororaroundthevents.Removedustif
possible.AskSHARPdealeraboutremovinginternaldust.
