9 Troubleshooting
9.1 Table of Error Messages

Start Problem
Instrument busy Trying to enter a command
while the instrument is still
processing another command
• Wait until the task is finished then re-
enter the command
Injector not
initialized
Injector is needed for the
protocol but was not primed
before starting the run
• Touch the
SETUP
button and follow
the wizard to PRIME the injector
No plate in
instrument
The instrument does not
detect a microplate in the
Microplate Sample Tray
• Make sure there is a microplate seated
properly in the Microplate Sample Tray
Protocol Selection
No wells selected
At least one well on the
microplate needs to be
selected (green) to be read
• Touch the PLATE button found on the
READ screen and verify at least one
well is selected
Instrument Busy
Stop the run in
progress before
creating a new
protocol
When trying to use any of the
PROTOCOL wizards during a
run
• Wait until the current run is over, then
create or modify a protocol
Instrument Problem
Door opened
Instrument door was opened
during a run causing the
reading to abort
• Restart the run
Something prevented the
instrument door from fully
closing as the Microplate
Sample Tray was retracting
• Check the instrument door for any
obstructions
No tray in
instrument
Prime and flushing injectors
require use of the Waste
Collection Tray
• Touch the DOOR button to open door
and place the Waste Collection Tray
on the Microplate Sample Tray
Plate location
misaligned
The sensor did not detect the
sample plate
• Push the Microplate Sample Tray all
the way in, close the instrument door,
and restart run
Injector 1 not
installed
The protocol requires addition
of reagent using Injector 1 but
it is not detected
• Verify Injector 1 is installed correctly by
checking all connections and looking
for an INJECTOR icon on the
INSTRUMENT STATUS bar
