Image Send Functions (Fax)
Name Description
2-sided Reception Prints an incoming fax on both sides of paper.
2-in-1 (Fax & i-Fax) Reduces and sends two original pages as a single page.
Chain Dial
By pressing the [Pause] key, a number entered before can be combined with a number
entered after.
Direct
Transmission
After the connection is established and the fax signal from the other machine is confirmed,
scanning begins without using memory and the fax is transmitted.
Fax Staple
Designates the number of copies to be printed out as well as whether incoming faxes are to
be stapled.
F-Code
F-Code is a standard established by the ITU-T to ensure greater security and confidentiality in
fax transmissions.
Until now, special communications (for example, ‘confidential transmission’ and ‘relay
broadcast transmission’) could be performed only with another Sharp fax machine.
However, these functions are now available with other fax machines, as other
manufacturers have come to support F-Code.
Flash Memory
A flash memory is used for saving fax data. It can hold information without the need of
electricity.
Inbound Routing
Received faxes can be automatically forwarded to a specified e-mail address, FTP server,
SMB server, or desktop.)
Page Numbering Numbers incoming fax pages when printing them out.
PC-Fax Sends data directly from a PC to a fax machine without printing the data on paper.
Polling
Polling is the procedure of asking another fax machine whether it wants to send information
and receive that information. Naturally, information must already be stored on that machine
in memory called “polling memory.” You can also perform the reverse, or scan a document
to polling memory on your fax machine as the information to be retrieved by another fax
machine.
