File Format
MX-M503N/U, MX-M453N/U, MX-M363N/U, and MX-M283N supports commonly used file
formats for scanned data. Only N models support colour scanning.

Network TWAIN*
MX-M503N, MX-M453N, MX-M363N, and MX-M283N support TWAIN, enabling you to
scan image data efficiently with TWAIN-compliant software.
Pre-Setting Mail
Signature
Automatically appends a signature to the end of the body text of e-mail. It is able to register
contents in the Web pages.
Scan Destination
Sends and forwards scanned images to destinations connected on the network (or local
storage) by using handy and easy-to-use options:
Send to Desktop / Send to E-mail / Send to FTP / Send to SMB / Send to USB memory / Send
to HDD
Send to Desktop
Sends scanned files directly to your PC without routing through a server. These files
automatically appear on your desktop as thumbnails for greater ease of use.
Send to E-mail Sends scanned files as an attachment to any e-mail address over the Internet.
Send to FTP
Sends scanned files for storage on an FTP server. If you configure the “Scan to FTP Server”
settings, the MFP automatically sends e-mail that contains links to the scanned files to
destinations, so receivers can view the file with a single click
.
Send to HDD Sends scanned files to the MFP’s HDD.
Send to SMB
Sends scanned files for storage on a file server that uses SMB. (SMB is a type of protocol
commonly used on Windows PCs.)
Send to USB Sends scanned files to a USB memory.

Restriction
Sets the maximum limitation of scanned data size.
Specified Page Per
File
Scans multiple documents at once and groups them into separate files for each page. (TIFF
and PDF)
Suppress
Background
(scan only)
Suppresses the light background of the original when scanning data.
