in Jobs Completed List”, and “Clear Address Book and Registered Data”.
DoD 5220.22-M
When [DoD 5220.22-M] is set, the number of repetitions is fixed at 3.
Data is cleared by the data clear pattern that complies with the DoD 5220.22-M
specifications.
The verification method is [All].
Manual
When [Manual] is selected, the number of repetitions and data clear pattern can be
set.
The number of repetitions can be set to a number from 1 to 10.
[Overwrite with "0"], [Overwrite with "FF"], [Overwrite with Random Number], or
[Overwrite with Specified Value] can be selected for the data clear pattern.
[None], [All], or [%] can be selected for the verification method.
[%] is used to verify if data is properly overwritten within the range 5% to 95%. You can
set the range in increments of 5%.
Power Up Auto Clear
These are the same settings as the Data Area Clearance Settings, and are used to
specify automatic clearing of the data areas when the power is turned on.
Number of Times Auto Clear at Job End Program is Repeated
These are the same settings as the Data Area Clearance Settings, and are used to
specify the number of data clear repetitions performed by the auto clear function each
time a job is completed.
This setting is only enabled when the [Power Up Auto Clear] checkbox is
selected.
About the repeat setting
When the repeat setting (number of repetitions) is increased to enhance the security
function, the time required for data clearing increases.
It is recommended that you select repeat settings for "Data Area Clearance Settings",
"Power Up Auto Clear", and "Number of Times Auto Clear at Job End Program is
Repeated" that are suitable for your security needs and conditions of use.
