69BSharp OSA
Sharp OSA makes it possible for third-party software developers to create custom applications that link the MFP to
software programs on a server or PC, giving you the ability to create your own solutions specific to your own
needs.
The MX-7040N / MX-6240N are compatible with Sharp OSA versions 2.0, 3.0, 3.2, 3.5, and 4.0 which make it
even easier to customise your MFP and integrate it into your office workflow.
Sharp OSA 4.0
The MX-7040N / MX-6240N support the next generation Sharp OSA 4.0*. Sharp OSA 4.0 differs from earlier
versions in that it can connect to server applications outside the firewall. This is commonly known as connecting
to the ‘Cloud’ or to ‘Software as a Service’ (SaaS) type applications.
Sharp OSA 4.0 offers two types of platforms 1) Conventional type platform (original platform), which do NOT
support SaaS type applications and 2) extended platform, which support SaaS type applications.
Extended Platform
Allows Sharp OSA server to be placed outside of the Firewall in addition to inside of the Firewall.
-> Sharp OSA applications can be provided as SaaS type applications.
Benefits for Customers
Customers do not need to install server PC and software.
-> Reduces cost for IT management.
Large-scale initial investment is not required.
SaaS type applications can communicate through firewall.
-> Customers can construct more flexible system.
The above benefits can expand solution sales of Sharp OSA for small and medium-sized companies that have
strong demands for SaaS type applications.
