The engine speed on the MX-7040N / MX-6240N is 70/62 cpm/ppm for both colour and B/W. Although the B/W
speed is the same as the previous models (MX-7001N / MX-6201N) the colour speed of the MX-7040N is 40%
faster than the MX-7001N and the colour speed of the MX-6240N is 24% faster than the MX-6201N.
Copying
When performing 1-sided copying through the DSPF, the machine can read at
speeds of up to 75 opm for B/W and 51 opm for colour because MX-7040N /
MX-6240N adopt tandem engine described in the image. This is up to 15%
faster for B/W and up to 46% faster for colour than the MX-7001N / MX-6201N.
When performing 2-sided copy through the DSPF, the machine can read at
speed of up to 150 opm for B/W and 100 opm for colour. This is 131% faster
for B/W and 185% faster for colour than the MX-7001N / MX-6201N.
Note: This is the reading speed through the DSPF. The actual copy speed is 70/62 cpm for both colour and B/W.
Scanning
When performing 1-sided scan through the DSPF, the machine can read at speeds of up to 75 opm for B/W and
colour. This is 15% faster for B/W and 114% faster for colour than the MX-7001N / MX-6201N.
When performing 2-sided scan through the DSPF, the machine can read at speeds of up to 150 opm for B/W and
colour (B/W and colour scanning speed is the same). This is 131% faster for B/W and up to 329% faster for
colour than the MX-7001N / MX-6201N.

The first copy out time is just 5.1 seconds for colour and 3.7 seconds for B/W on the MX-7040N and 5.6 seconds
for colour and 4.0 seconds for B/W on the MX-6240N. Combined with a warm up time of 55 seconds on the
MX-7040N / MX-6240N, it’s evident that everything has been designed with efficiency in mind.
