KARAOKE Function
This product enables you to easily enjoy Karaoke using the DVD and VCR.
• The output level may decrease slightly when this function is used.
• Karaoke function is disabled during recording a DVD disc onto a video cassette.
While You are Enjoying Singing Karaoke
1 Connect a microphone to the MIC jack on the front of the product.
•
When you connect a microphone to the MIC jack on the front of the product, the KARAOKE mode is set to
ON. (The KEY CONTROL screen will be displayed for 10 seconds when the product is DVD mode. The
KEY CONTROL screen is not displayed when the product is in the VCR mode. This is not a malfunction.)

• You can connect 1 microphone each to both the MIC 1 and MIC 2 jacks, and use both microphones simultaneously.
• Before connecting microphones to the jacks, reduce the volume of each microphone to its minimum level.
• In the following cases, the KEY CONTROL screen is not displayed but the KARAOKE mode is ON when you connect a
microphone to the MIC jack.
- When the product is in the VCR mode.
- When no disc is loaded.
- When the disc is loading.
- During the fast forward or the fast reverse.
- When the temporary change screen of the PARENTAL setting is displayed.
- When you press the button on the Remote consecutively.
2 Adjust the microphone volume using the MIC VOLUME knob on the front of the product, and adjust the
echo level using the ECHO knob on the front of the product.
• When microphones are connected to both MIC 1 and 2 jacks, the volume and echo of both micro-
phones change by the same amount.

3 Set the DVD disc or video cassette and then playback it.
• When a noise occurs, move the microphone(s) away from the speakers. If you still hear noise even after you have
moved the microphone(s) away from the speakers, reduce the volumes of the microphone(s) and speakers.
