Audio Selection
DVD Discs
• This function can only be used for discs on which the sound has
been recorded in multiple formats.
• On some discs, the sound is recorded in both Dolby Digital (5ch or
5.1ch) and Linear PCM. Use the procedure below to select the type of
playback.
1 While a disc is playing, press the AUDIO button on the remote
control to show the current audio format number.
• While the audio format number is displayed, press the AUDIO
button (or the ' or " button in
) to switch to the next audio
format number in the sequence of audio formats recorded on the
disc. Playback then continues in the new audio format.
Video CDs and Audio CDs
Three types of playback are available for VCD discs and CD discs.
1 While a disc is playing, press the AUDIO button on the remote
control to show the current playback type.
• Press the AUDIO button to change the type of Audio playback.
The Audio playback changes as follows:
• For DTS CD playback, audio mode should be set to “L+R”. The Digital
Out signal can not be output correctly if audio mode is set to “L” or “R”.

If no button is pressed within

Recorded audio format number changes
sequentially.
• If only one audio format is recorded, the
number does not change.
(The maximum number of audio formats
stipulated by the manufacturers is 8/8.)
Lights when Dolby Digital sound, MPEG, DTS,
MULTI or 2ch is used. (Does not light for LPCM.)
