Subtitle Selection (DVD only)
This function can only be used for discs on which subtitles have been
recorded in multiple languages.
1 If you press the SUBTITLE button on the remote control while
a DVD disc is playing, the current language setting is displayed,
as shown in the example below.
(Example)
2/5
3/5 4/5 5/5 OFF
1/5
The selected language changes each time you press the
SUBTITLE
button, as shown above.
(OFF: Can be used to remove the subtitle display.)
When SUBTITLE displays a fraction (eg. 1/5), the ' or " button
in the cursor control buttons
on the remote control can also
be used to select the language. These buttons cannot be used to
select OFF mode, however.
Some DVD discs are marked “Forced Display”, indicating that the
subtitling cannot be suppressed. With such discs, the subtitles will
be displayed even when you select “
OFF” display. This does
not indicate a fault with your player.
If no subtitles are recorded on the disc,
xx is displayed.
The maximum number of subtitle languages stipulated by the
manufacturers is 32/32.
