Is focus control signal output from pin 208 of IC3201 to pin 16 of
IC3001 ?
No Check focus control signal line between IC3201 and IC3001.
Check M7V line.

Is focus control drive voltage output from pins 1 and 2 of IC3001
?
No Is voltage of 7 V applied to pin 27 of IC3001 ?
Yes
Check that pin 29 of IC3704 is “H” and replace IC3001.
If pin 29 of IC3001 is “L”, check pin 160 of IC3201.
Yes
Is focus control drive voltage applied to the focus actuator termi-
nal ? (Pin 23 and 24 of CN3001)
No Check line between IC3001 and focus actuator terminal. Check
CN3001.
Yes
Check co nnection of optical pickup cables.
If no a bnormality is detected, replace the optical pickup mecha-
nism unit.
• “No Disc” is displayed during DVD playback (when CD is playable) ... When DVD laser does not light up.
Is control signal output from pin 15 of IC 3101 ? No Check and replace IC3101.
Yes
Is voltage of 5 V applied to emitter of Q3105 ? No Check S5V line.
Yes
Is voltage of approx. 2.3 V supplied to pin 2 of CN3001 ? No Check around Q3105 and Q3101.
Yes
Check co nnection of optical pickup cables.
If no a bnormality is detected, replace optical pickup mechanism
unit.
Note: The laser diode is easily damaged by static electricity.
Carefully check static electricity and electric leak of the measuring
instrument.
