Receiving a Fax
Substitute Reception to Memory
If fax reception occurs when the machine is out of paper or out of toner, when a paper jam has
occurred, or when Copy mode is being used, the fax will be received to memory. When printing
becomes possible, the fax received to memory will be automatically printed out.
●
If a power save mode is turned on, faxes are received to memory because printing is not immediately
possible. As soon as printing becomes possible, the received fax is printed out. For more information
on power save modes, see the copier manual.
Notes on substitute reception to memory
●
A fax transmission job can be stored while a fax is being received to memory. (See page 35)
●
The transfer function can be turned on to have faxes received to memory transferred to a specified fax
number. (See page 102) Note that faxes are cleared from memory after they are transferred.
●
If the machine runs out of paper or a paper jam occurs during reception, substitute reception to
memory will take place from the following page.
●
The number of pages that can be received to memory will vary depending on the amount of optional
fax expansion memory installed. When the amount of free memory is lower then the amounts shown
in the following table, substitute reception to memory cannot take place.
Note
●
Faxes received by confidential reception or sub-address confidential reception cannot be
transferred. (See page 102)
