SENDING A FAX
This procedure is for sending a fax by memory transmission (See page 31) when the receiving machine
is in auto reception mode.
Sending a Fax Using the SPF
Use this method to scan and send one or more sheet originals (up to the sheet number limit).
You can preset the original size, resolution, and exposure. (See pages 23, 24)
1
Insert the originals into the document feeder tray. (See page 21)
Insert the originals face up.
Check and adjust the original size, resolution, and exposure settings as necessary.
2
Enter the fax number with the numeric keys.
Up to 40 digits can be entered. (Up to 50 digits can be entered when using Chain dialing.)
If you make a mistake, press the CLEAR key to clear the incorrect digit and then enter
the correct digit.
3
Press the START key.
After the first page is scanned, your machine dials the other machine and begins
transmission while the remaining pages are scanned.
The original is output to the original output tray.
Notes
If you wish to have all pages scanned into memory before transmission is begun, use the key
operator program to turn off the Quick On-line setting. (See page 154)
To cancel transmission, press the CLEAR key or cancel the job in the transmission job screen.
(See page 39)
If the power is turned off or a power failure occurs while an original is being scanned, the
machine will stop and a misfeed will occur. After the power is restored, remove the original as
explained in "Misfeed Removal" in the copy manual.
