LOADING ORIGINALS
Using the SPF
Use the SPF to fax multi-page originals.
Do not load originals that are different sizes even if the widths are the same. This may cause misfeeds.
Up to 30 pages can be loaded in the SPF as long as the stack does not exceed the indicator line.
1
Make sure that an original has not been left on the platen glass, and
then adjust the original guides to the width of the original.
●
If an original icon appears in the original display of the message screen, an original has
been left on the platen glass.
2
Make sure the edges of the original pages are evenly aligned, and then
insert the original pages face up into the document feeder tray.
●
Make sure the pages are inserted all the way into the feeder.
3
Check the original size, resolution, and exposure in the message
screen (See pages 23, 24).
Notes
●
If the original is a standard size (11" x 17", 8-1/2" x 14", 8-1/2" x 11", 8-1/2" x 11"R, or 5-1/2" x
8-1/2"), the original size is automatically detected and displayed.
●
If you loaded a non-standard size original, make sure that the displayed original size is the
same size as the size you want to send. If the displayed size is smaller than the actual original
size, part of the original may not be transmitted. Use the original size setting (See page 23) to
select an original size that is larger than the actual original size. (In some cases, an original
size may not be displayed when you load a non-standard size original.)
