CHAPTER 7 TROUBLESHOOTING PROCEDURES
(1-5)“RAM CHECK” or “INITIALIZING” are displayed
Operator panel indications
Check to see if the option
RAM DIMM/HDD is used in
the CU PCB.
Confirmation Tasks
The indication of "RAM CHECK" or "INITIALIZING" remains on
permanently.
Does the PCB operate after the RAM DIMM or HDD is
removed?
Check for a skew insertion or incomplete insertion.
Is the RAM DIMM/HDD a genuine part?
Correct the inserted state of the DIMM.
Action at NG
Replace the ROM
DIMM of the CU PCB
or the CU PCB.
Replace the optional
item, if necessary.
(1-5-1) Indications on the operator panel freeze.
Confirmation Items
(2) Irregular Operation of the device after turning on the power

Confirmation Items
Confirmation Tasks
Check the supply voltage of the AC power.
Measure the supplied AC voltage.
Check the power supply settings of the printer in use.
(Check the short-circuit plug designed for switching of low-
voltage power supply setting [CN5]. Short-circuit plug
provided/not provided = 100-V system/230-V system.)
Check the power through the POWER connector of the PU PCB
(PRX PCB).
4, 5, 6 pin: 24V
7 pin: 5V
8 pin: 0VL
1, 2, 3 pin: 0VP
Check the items of (1-1).
The operator panel needs to be detected and start operating, so
that the printer functions.
Action at NG
Supply AC power.
Set the low-voltage
power setting to the
proper values.
Replace the low-
voltage power supply.
