FUEL SYSTEM
To change fuel filter
Inline style located below the seat plate at left.
Remove fuel lines, discard filter and replace with new
one.
To change Koalescer
1. Drain bowl:
a) With engine off, open vent T on head assem-
bly.
b) Open filter drain valve U and allow bowl to
empty.
2. Spin off bowl B from filter. Discard bowl o-ring.
3. Remove filter.
4. Remove center post from old filter and save.
Discard old filter.
5. Prepare new filter:
a) Remove draincock from center hole of new
filter and discard.
b) Remove plug from larger of two holes in new
filter and discard.
c) Install post removed above in center hole of
new filter. Tighten securely.
6. Lubricate gasket of new filter. Install filter on filter
head, tightening securely by hand.
7. Install new o-ring in bowl and lubricate with oil.
Install bowl on filter, tightening securely by hand.
8. Close vent T and drain valve U.
9. Turn ignition on but do not start engine. Check for
leaks, tightening where necessary. Turn off
ignition.
10. Bleed air:
a) Turn ignition switch on but do not start
engine.
b) Open air vent R on the injection pump
allowing air to escape.
c) Close the air vent.
d) Turn ignition switch off.
SERVICE
Fuel is flammable and
fuel vapors explosive.
When servicing fuel
filters:
– do it outdoors
– do not smoke
– stop engine; allow to
cool
– clean up spilled fuel
