Tight Fit Forks and POSE™ Seal .
1. Apply axle lubricant to the hub of the fork or
ange.Figure5.98.
2. Verify that the lips of the POSE™ seal and
the outer retainer of the triple-lip seal or main
seal are clean and free from dirt and particles
that may cause lubricant leakage between
the seals.
3. Install the POSE™ seal onto the hub of the fork
or ange by hand. The lips of the seal must
face toward the end of the hub, opposite shoul-
der. Slide the POSE™ seal onto the hub until
the lips are 0.25-0.50-inch (6.4-12.7 mm) from
the end of the hub. Do not install the POSE™
seal against the shoulder. Figure 5.99.
4.Beforeinstalltheforkorangeintheshaft,
apply axle lubricant to the hub.
