The obvious advantage of this circuit configuration is that Q506 and Q507 are only conducting during the
active line scanning period. This coupled with the fact that they are used as switches, i.e. maximum
current/no voltage or no current/maximum voltage means that there is very little energy generated within
these devices. Thus power consumption is kept down to a minimum.
Note that the east/west adjustment is made in the service mode and is referred to in the Service set up
mode section of these notes.
