APMandACPIareasfollows:
OnanAPM‐managedterminal,theBIOSdetermineswhento
switchbetweenpowerstatesandalsoperformstheswitch.When
usingACPI,theoperatingsystemdetermineswhentoswitchand
informstheBIOStoperformtheswitch.
APMmust
beenabledintheBIOS.ACPIisautomaticallyactive
withtheoperatingsystem.
