HEAD SWITCHING PULSE TROUBLESHOOTING FLOW CHART NO.1-10
No head switching pulse.
Check H.SW.P. signal line.
Check drum PG and drum FG signal line between drum motor and pins (66) and (65) of IC2001, respectively.
Check IC2001.

Is the drum motor rotating?

No reel sensor pulse.

Insert the cassette, and put the unit in FF or REW mode.
Check between D7702 and pin (2) of IC2001, between D7703 and pin (3) of IC2001. Are there the take up/supply reel pulses at the collectors of D7702/D7703?
Check the cleanness & position of reel sensors. Check the gap between mecha and sensors. Replace reel sensors.

Is it only the REC mode not functioning? (After PB the REC tape, check if the PB switching point shifted from the origin.)

Is the H.SW.P. signal detected at TP3302?

Is there 14MHz oscillation at pin (37) and (38) of IC2001?

Is the vertical sync signal detected at pin (50) of IC2001?
Check connection between pin (50) of IC2001 until pin (50) of IC2201.
Check connection between pin (32) and (34) of IC2001 and drum motor. OR Change drum motor.
Are the duty ratio of DRUM AFC PWM at pin (32) and DRUM APC PWM at pin (34) of IC2001 change according to the number of drum motor rotation? (slowing down the drum motor by touching with your finger)
