the Adapter to a Different Slot
Before moving an SGI Gigabit Ethernet Adapter to a different slot in the same system, first
remove the adapter driver software (see procedure below). When the driver has been removed,
shut down the system and move the adapter hardware to the desired slot. Finally, reinstall the
driver software as described in Installing the Adapter Driver Software” on page 3-1.

Before physically removing a adapter from your system, first remove the adapter driver software.
1. Start your Windows NT system and log in.

OTE
You must have Network Administrator privileges to remove the driver software.
2. Open the Control Panel and double-click on the Network icon.
3. When the Network window opens, select the “Adapters” tab:
Any previously installed SGI Gigabit Ethernet Adapter will be listed under Network Adapters.
4. Individually select each adapter you wish to remove and click on “Remove.”
5. Once the appropriate adapters have been removed, click on “Close.
6. When prompted to restart your computer, click on “Yes.”
