Procedures to check already installed cabling are listed in “Check all Cable Connections and
Airflow”. If your NAS JBOD system is being installed on-site, install the needed cables as
directed in the following subsections.
MIS NAS JBOD Cable Guide & Chassis Location
For systems that have multiple chassis, determine the proper location for each chassis in the rack:
an ISS3112-RP2 server can support up to four MIS JBOD enclosures. The NAS server is always
located above or between multiple JBOD enclosures, as seen in the example layouts in
Figure 2-21 through Figure 2-23 (cable colors are for clarity and do not correspond with actual
cable colors). ISS3112-RP2 NAS servers are connected to JBODs using SAS cables, while JBODs
are connected to each other using SAS HD cabling.
