If you have more than 4TB of storage, you must create multiple volumes to fully utilize your
RAID disks. Refer to the MegaRAID SAS Software Users Guide and the MegaRAID 6Gb/s SAS
RAID Controllers Users Guide for more information about configuring your system disks.
Depending upon your system's configuration, your system may have one or more drives already
installed.
Check the Airflow
Airflow is provided by seven hot-swappable chassis cooling fans. The system component layout
was carefully designed to direct sufficient cooling airflow to the components that generate the
most heat.
Note: Make sure that all power and data cables have been routed in such a way that they do not
block the airflow generated by the fans.
Supply Power to the System
If necessary, install the system in a rack (refer to “Install the System into a Rack” on page 16), and
connect the power cord from the power supply module into a power strip or power distribution
unit (PDU). SGI also recommends that you use an uninterruptible power supply (UPS) source.
