Modifying System
Drive Groups
Aftersystemdrivegroupsarecreated,youcanmodifyagroupbyaddingor
removingsystemdrives.Before modifyingSDgroups,youmustfirst
determinethephysicallocationofthesystemdrivesalongwiththeRAID
configuration.Thisinformationcanbeobtainedusingvariousthird‐party
applications.ContactSGIGlobalServices
forinformationaboutwhichthird‐
partyapplicationsaresupported.
Caution:Whenmodifyingasystemdrivegroup,youmustensurethatthesys‐
temdrivesbeingaddedtoagrouparelocatedonthesamephysicaldevices(or
RAIDgroup)asthesystemdrivesalreadyinthegroup.Otherwisesystemper‐
formance
canbeadverselyaffected.
Thefollowingstepsdescribehowtomodifysystemdrivegroupsmanually.
1. NavigatetotheSystemDrivesGrouppage(Home>Storage
Management>SystemDriveGroups).
TheSystemDriveGroupspageindicatesthenumberofSDsnotin
groupsandliststheSDgroupsthathavealreadybeen
created.
2. Selectthesystemdrivegroupyouwanttomodify.
Inthe SystemDrivesGrouppage,clickdetailsforthesystemdrivegroup
youwanttomodify.TheModifySystemDriveGrouppageopens,
