6. You are dropped intoa menu toedit the printerentry information: (nameof printer,
spool directory, filelimit in Kb 0=nolimit, printer device).
7. Click on the input filter Select button and this allows you to choose your printer
type. It should provide a description of the driver as well, so that if you do not see
your printer you may find a compatible driver.
8. When you see your printer on the list, select it and click OK.
9. Click OK in the edit local Printer Entry dialog box.
10. In the RHS Linux Print System Manager click on lpd > restart lpd.
11. Under tests,click onprint asciitest page. If the test page doesnot ejectat theend, go
back and highlight your printer name, then click edit > input filter select and toggle
on the Send EOF after job to eject the page, click OK and try again.
12. Next, send a test print PostScript file to test the printer function.
Copy Configuration Software to Diskettes
When you copy software from the CD onto diskettes, device drivers suitable for several
different OSs are copied onto the diskettes. However, your OS will read only those
driversit can recognize,so youcannotusuallycheckthedirectoryofadiskette that isnot
formatted for your OS. Instead, you might see a message to the effect, disk not
formatted, do you want to format it now?
In most cases,the driversfor YOUROS
are on the diskette and available to load on the system.
1. Before starting, make sure that you have several blank high-density diskettes.
2. From the CD-ROM menu bar, select Create Diskettes and press Enter.
3. Follow the prompts to copy the software onto the diskettes.
4. When finished, from the CD-ROM menu bar, select Quit to DOS and press Enter.
5. Remove the CD from the CD-ROM drive.
