4-3-7. Maintenance

The module’s rmware may be updated using the web interface; please refer to Table 5 for the

procedure to do this.

Updating the rmware will not alter any existing conguration les or certicates loaded on the

module.

You will rst need to obtain the version of rmware you wish to install from the Quatech website

or Quatech technical support. The rmware will be a binary image le (.img) and indicate the

version of the rmware in the le name.

Once you have obtained the rmware, save the rmware image to a location on the system

you are browsing the module from, or a location accessible to the system you are browsing the

module from.

Maintenance menu includes “Update Module Firmware, Reset to Factory Defaults, Restart Module”

functions.

Step Description

Navigation Bar

Select Maintenance

This will open a window showing the current module status.

Feature Bar

Select Update Module

Firmware

You will see a window open with eld to enter the location of the

module rmware you want to upload.

The current rmware version number is displayed at the top of

the page.

Press Browse... Button

This will open a dialog box in which you can locate the rmware

image you wish to upload to the module. Select the rmware

image le and press Open.

This will return you to the Upload Firmware window and will have

entered the location and le name of the rmware image you

wish to upload in the eld next to the Browse… button.

Press Load New Firmware

You will then see a notice that the rmware upload has begun

(Figure 20).

When the upload has been completed successfully and the

rmware updated w window indicating this will be shown

(Figure 21).

Press Reboot This will restart the module and the new rmware will be loaded.

DO NOT REMOVE POWER FROM THE MODULE DURING THE FIRMWARE UPDATE CYCLE.

This may cause the device to become non-operational. If this happens please contact Quatech

Technical Support.
