General information
The markings on the water gauge and/
or on the jug help you to measure the
amount of water needed to prepare
the required number of cups of coffee.
If your appliance comes with a double
graduation scale, the one on the left-hand
side corresponds to medium-sized cups
with a capacity of approx. 125 ml, the one
on the right-hand side to smaller-sized
coffee cups. Take care not to exceed the
indicated maximum number of cups.
Always switch off and allow the coffee
maker to cool down for about 5 minutes
before it is switched on again.
Warning! Be careful not to ll water into
the reservoir immediately after a brewing
cycle is complete as hot steam may
escape from the water nozzle.
To prepare lter coffee
Filling the water reservoir
Open the water reservoir lid. Fill the reservoir
with the required amount of fresh cold water
and close the lid.
Inserting the paper lter
Place a paper lter size 1x4 into the lter
holder, rst folding down its perforated sides.
Adding ground coffee
We recommend using nely ground lter
coffee, approximately 6 g = 1½ - 2 tsp. per
medium-sized cup (125 ml).
Preparing the jug
Place the jug lid or the drip-through lid onto
the jug . If correctly inserted, the lid will
disable the drip-stop mechanism in the lter
holder during the brewing cycle.
Replace the jug back into the appliance.
Starting the ltering process
Insert the plug into a suitable wall outlet and
use the On/Off button to switch the coffee
maker on. The ltering process begins.
Removing the jug
When the ltering process is complete, i.e.
all water has run through the lter holder into
the jug, remove the jug to serve the coffee.
Coffee maker with hotplate:
The coffee may be kept warm inside the
glass jug by leaving it standing on the hot-
plate. The plate is kept hot for around 35
minutes after brewing is complete.
Coffee maker with thermo vacuum jug:
The coffee maker will switch off automatically
once the brewing cycle is complete.
Interrupting the brewing/keeping-warm
cycle:
To interrupt the brewing cycle, or if the
keeping-warm function is no longer needed,
press the On/Off button again to turn the
appliance off.
Switching the coffee maker off:
Remove the plug from the wall socket once
brewing/keeping-warm is complete.
Cof fee maker with drip-through lid
During the ltering process and while
pouring the coffee out, the drip-through lid
does not need to be removed and should
remain on the jug. To pour the coffee, press
the lever on the lid down to open it, when the
coffee may now pass out through the spout.
