Warranty Guide
The warrantor, herein after referring to Viance LLC., extends
this Limited Warranty to “Original Consumer Purchasers” of
Ecolife™ preservative plus stabilized treated wood products
(hereinafter referred to as “Ecolife”). Original Consumer
Purchasers are defined herein to mean the first owners of
record of a residential property using it for residential pur-
poses immediately following installation of the warranted
wood. This warranty is good from the date of purchase for as
long as the Original Consumer Purchaser owns the property
on which the new Ecolife residential structure(s) is/are built.
This warranty is not transferable.
THIS WARRANTY COVERS:
Ecolife treated wood products, when used in conjunction with
a residential structure in above ground exposures not in con-
tact with the ground or exposed directly to soil or other debris
simulating a ground contact exposure, are warranted against
damage by fungal decay or termite infestation that makes the
wood structurally unfit for the application for which it was
used. Additionally, Ecolife is warranted to exhibit better dimen-
sional stability in an ASTM D-4446 Swell-o-meter test than
ACQ
®
, MCQ or copper azole treated wood of the same species
exposed to comparable use conditions. Each piece of Ecolife
wood covered by this warranty shall have been treated with
the Ecolife preservative plus wood stabilizer system, and must
bear the logo of an inspection agency that is sanctioned by
the American Lumber Standards Committee. It must also have
an Ecolife Lifetime Limited Warranty end tag attached to one
end of each piece of wood. The warrantor, within 60 days of
validation of a claim under this warranty, will arrange to
exchange the damaged Ecolife pressure-treated wood for new
wood of the same type. The Original Consumer Purchaser must
present, to the warrantor, the original invoice showing the date
and specified amount of Ecolife wood purchased and end tags
for each piece of wood claimed to be damaged. When making
any warranty claim the Original Consumer Purchaser may be
r
equir
ed to send photographs and sections of damaged wood.
In addition, the warrantor reserves the right to have a repre-
s
entative inspect and test all wood claimed to be damaged.

THIS WARRANTY DOES NOT COVER AND THE
WARRANTOR SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:
1. Ecolife wood used in ground contact applications or appli-
cations where the wood is exposed directly to soil or other
conditions that simulate a ground contact exposure.
2. Ecolife wood used in foundation systems, used in water
immersion applications, used for any non-residential appli-
cations, or damage resulting from any cause other than
fungal decay or termites.
3. Damage caused by natural change in physical appearance
of wood beyond the control of the product .
4. Costs associated with the delivery, installation, removal or
reinstallation of Ecolife pressure-treated wood products.
5. Any incidental or consequential damages claimed to be a
result of failure of Ecolife wood.
For western species of wood, this warranty is void unless all
cuts and boreholes are coated during construction in accor-
dance with American Wood Protection Association Standard
M4 using a copper naphthenate preservative solution contain-
ing a minimum of 1% metallic copper. The obligation of the
warrantor under this warranty is limited to replacement of
lumber in accordance with the terms of this warranty. There
are no warrantie
s offered by the warrantor other than those
described herein. Nothing in this warranty shall affect custom-
ary duration, or create additional implied warranties. Some
state laws vary with regard to duration of implied warranties
and limitations of incidental or consequential damages con-
tained in such implied warranties. In any event, the warrantor
will comply with the laws of the state in which a limited
warranty is validated. Ecolife wood is not a maintenance-free
product. Over time, foot traffic, weathering and the sun’s ultra-
violet rays will affect the weather resistance and the wood’s
surface in general. To help maximize surface protection and to
keep your wood looking better longer, we recommend that a
surface-applied water repellent be applied every two years.
