Engine will not start
Engine will not start but cranks
over

Engine starts but does not keep
running
Place lever in neutral position.
Charge or replace.
Check and tighten.
Replace 25A only. (Honda)
Replace 30 A only. (Kubota)
Make sure neutral switch wires are
secured. See neutral interlock
adjustment.
See Honda or Kubota Manual for
troubleshooting.
Add fuel and/or oil.
Check fuel filter, replace if necessary.
Connect. (Honda)
Clean or replace. (Honda)
Check engine ignition system. See
Honda manual for troubleshooting.
Remain seated. Check contacts.
Replace seat switch.
Check fuel lines. Drain fuel system.
Check fuel filter for water
accumulation or sediment.
Adjust choke cable.
Clean choke linkage.
Adjust as per Honda Shop Manual PN
56238.
Check fuel lines or replace.
Forward/Reverse lever not in
neutral position.
Battery not fully charged.
Loose battery or starter cables.
Ignition fuse blown.
Faulty or improperly adjusted neutral
interlock switch.
Faulty engine starting circuit.
Low on fuel or oil.
Fuel filter plugged.
Spark plug wire (2)
disconnected.
Spark plug fouled.
No spark at plug.
No contact at seat switch .
No fuel to carburetor.
Water/dirt in fuel.
Choke remains on.
Carburetor improperly adjusted.
Fuel on pump drawing in air.
