Inserting e-commerce forms and repeating areas
If you plan to work with e-commerce, you can choose to work in two ways.
Either using repeating e-commerce forms or repeating e-commerce areas. The
former offers interactivity with your shopping cart provider, i.e. the user can
access PayPal to perform the transaction. The latter does not interact with the
provider so can be used only for displaying items.
To insert a repeating e-commerce form:
1. Click the
Insert an E-Commerce object button on the Web Objects
toolbar's E-Commerce flyout.
OR
Select Insert Repeating E-Commerce Form from the Database Merge
toolbar (switch on first).
2. From the dialog, select your shopping cart provider (PayPal, etc.) that
you're already signed up to by clicking the appropriate radio button. If
you're not signed up to a provider use the Sign Up Now button. Click
Next>.
3. (Optional; for new sites only) In the dialog, enter the email address
which is to receive the payment information. Click Next>.
4. (Optional) In the next dialog, uncheck the Use the site default address box
and set a different email address to override the site default.
5. Pick a repeating form object type from the PayPal Form box. Enable
either:
Repeating Buy Now Form: For single item purchases. This form
offers Buy Now buttons to direct the shopper straight to checkout.
Items are retrieved from a provider-specific e-commerce database
and are listed repeatedly in merged Web pages.
OR
Repeating Add to Shopping Cart Form: For multi-item purchases.
As above but shopper is directed to a shopping cart.
OR
Repeating Area: For displaying items only. No Buy Now or Add to
Shopping Cart buttons are defined.
