Appendix D: Calibrating the Pro 3
Sequential
Programs can also be dumped directly from one Pro 3 to another using
the MIDI DIN jack, if the midi sysex cable parameter is set to midi in the
global menu.
To send a program or bank to another Pro 3 as a SysEx le over MIDI:
1. Connect two Pro 3 synthesizers together using MIDI cables and the
midi in and midi out jacks on their rear panels.
2. On both synthesizers, press the global button and use soft knob 1 to
select midi sysex cable, then use Soft Knob 3 to choose midi.
3. On the Pro 3 that you want to send the programs to, press the global
button again to disable it.
4. On the Pro 3 that you want to send the programs from, in the global
menu use soft knob 1 to select dump prog, dump bank, or dump all
banks, depending on which of these you would like to do.
5. Press Soft Button 1 (dump now). The program or bank is exported to the
other Pro 3.
Dumped programs will load back into the same bank and program location in
memory when received by the Pro 3 via MIDI.
Importing Programs and Banks
You can use a MIDI librarian application such as such as SysEx Librar-
ian for Macintosh, or MIDI-OX for Windows to transmit exported
program or banks back into your Pro 3. You will need a computer and an
appropriate software application.
To import a program or bank as a SysEx le over MIDI:
1. Connect your synthesizer to a computer using a USB cable (or MIDI
cable, if you are using a dedicated MIDI interface).
2. Press the global button on your Pro 3.
3. Use the soft knob 1 to select midi sysex cable, then use Soft Knob 3
to choose either usb or midi, depending on which port you are using to
connect to your computer.
