Chapter 4: Using the Pro 3 with External Devices
Connect an expression pedal to the Pro 3 and route it to a parameter such as lter
cutoff in the mod matrix for more real-time processing control over the audio input.
Filtering External Audio Using the Envelope Follower
The Pro 3’s envelope follower makes it easy to process external audio
with an “auto-wah” type effect. Add a little distortion and delay and this
is a very expressive effect.
The Envelope Follower has controls for attack and release in the ext in env
tab. Display these parameters by turning the ext audio knob in the Mixer.

To avoid continuous oscillator drone, set the output level of all Pro 3 oscillators
to zero.
To lter external audio with the envelope follower:
1. Connect an instrument or audio signal to the audio in jack on the rear of
the Pro 3 and turn up the instrument to a suitable level.
2. Press the hold button then play a key on the keyboard. This holds the
VCA open.
3. To avoid continuous oscillator drone, set the level of all oscillators to
zero in the Mixer.
